Supporting the mental well-being of your workforce in 2022.

Health and social care providers have up to now been focusing mainly on the health and wellbeing of service users, as they should be, but following the pandemic and the increased pressure on staff, there is now increasing awareness into how providers can support the health and wellbeing of their team.

There are 3 main ways to do this.

  • Tackling the stigma around mental health
  • Stress management for staff
  • Recognition of hard work & efforts

Outstanding care cannot be given without outstanding staff. Staff mental health and wellbeing has been neglected, especially during the pandemic. High levels of stress in staff leads to increases in absence days and low staff morale which costs your organisation time, money and contributes to high staff turnover. These costs could be better spent investing in workplace stress management and staff mental health support services.

Within our Health and Safety pack we have Stress Action Plans and a policy dedicated to Stress Management to support you in highlighting the importance of mental wellbeing in the workplace and start to put more of a focus on the wellbeing of your hard working staff.

We also have dedicated staff supervision and performance review documents that ensure you can monitor your staffs’ wellbeing and establish any patterns between their working routine, stress levels and performance and take action to support them.
