We recommend purchasing our Policies and procedures pack after you are registered. This contains all of the policies you should ever need, written specifically for your service. This is normally charged at £1,195 but we will give you a 10% discount if purchased at the same time as registration support.

The Steps For Successful CQC Registration

Step 1.

Find a suitable Registered Manager

Ensure they have practical experience working with each of the service user types you would like to be regulated for.

Step 2.

Apply for your DBS check.

As part of your application, you will need to enclose a DBS disclosure number with your forms. So, to complete the process as quickly as possible, obtaining a DBS check should be the first action you take.

Step 3.

Complete your Business Plan.

This will give you a lot of the information that you will need for your Statement of Purpose. You should describe your business. Cover your aims and objectives, strategies, sales, marketing and financial forecasts.

Step 3.

Complete your Statement of Purpose.

A statement of purpose for a business describes what you do, where you do it and who you do it for.  You have to include a statement of purpose as part of your application and it must include: your aims and objectives, the services you provide, the different needs of people who use your service, your contact details, your service’s legal entity and the addresses of places where services are provided.

More information is available here: https://www.cqc.org.uk/guidance-providers/registration/register-new-provider/write-your-statement-purpose

Step 5.

Ask your accountant for a Financial viability statement.

The financial viability statement needs to be completed by either your accountant or a bank or financial services firm regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

Step 6.

Complete your Registered Manager application.

Don’t forget, you are allowed more than one registered manager, you also need to be aware that if you are sharing a registered manager with another service, then they will need to be able to show they can manage their time effectively.

Step 7.

Complete your Provider application.

The process of actually completing all of the forms ready to submit to the CQC can be a time consuming process. Hopefully, after completing the previous steps, you will have a much better understanding of what is required. Don’t forget we can help you with this, or you can ask us to complete it on your behalf.

Step 8.

Submit your application.

Review the checklist and make sure that you have included all documents,  your statement of purpose, your policies and procedures and your Registered Manager application before you submit everything to the CQC.

What Documents Will I Need?

When you submit your application to the CQC, you will also need to submit supporting documents such as a Business Plan or a sample Care Plan depending on the type of service that you are registering.  Your application will be returned if any of these supporting documents are missing.
