CQC compliance for new and existing service providers

By Maizie Miller, Policy and Compliance Expert

You may be at the start of you registration journey or you may have been a service provider for years. Delivering outstanding care should be at the heart of your service and compliance along side that.

If you have recently submitted your CQC Registration Application, now would be a time to look at this side of your service so that you can hit the ground running.

As a newly registered provider, you can benefit due to the fact that you can start all the correct processes from scratch, getting all things compliance related right from the very beginning and sticking to a good governance routine.

If you are an established provider you may want to start working towards an ‘Outstanding’ rating. The new year is a great time to plan your compliance for the next 12 months. You may have recently had a CQC inspection to which you would have received your CQC Inspection Report, which can be used as a basis for creating your plan.

If you want to improve your rating, you can use your Inspection Report to highlight areas for improvement and use this against our mock inspection toolkits to create an action plan that you and your team can work through to achieve improved performance in each area of the Key Lines of Enquiry.

Detailed below are the elements of a good plan.

  • governance plans
  • audit schedules

We have a range of planners and templates to support you with this, including weekly, monthly, quarterly, six-monthly and annual plans to help you manage these tasks.
